The problem our community faces
Many participants arrive with real skills and experience, but limited access to computers, online application tools and reliable transportation makes it hard to apply for work in Canada.
Current campaign
Proposed October 2026 budget. These are requested resources, not money already received.
We welcome financial support, donated technology, transit assistance and introductions to potential funding partners. We can maintain equipment inventories, track assistance and provide aggregate program reporting.

Our volunteer-driven English for Employment program, hosted at The Salvation Army, provides free employment-readiness education every Friday: real job postings, truthful résumés, digital applications and interview practice — not a general English class.
Today almost every job application is online, and attending sessions or interviews depends on getting there. Removing these barriers lets participants use what they learn.
Financial and in-kind support goes toward laptops and digital learning equipment, access to online résumé and application tools, bus tickets for participants facing barriers, and practical learning resources.
Businesses, organizations and individuals interested in sponsoring equipment, transportation or the program are warmly invited to contact us.
Online donations are not yet available. Please contact us and we'll explain how to contribute.
Community makes it possible
Shared community space and collaboration make our Friday program possible. We are grateful for this welcome; the contribution is space, not financial sponsorship or bus tickets.
The library supported fundraising locations at Central Library, Oak Ridges and Richmond Green, helping volunteers bring community initiatives into public spaces.
Diamond STEM reports that earlier Nowruz and Mother’s Day fundraising helped cover classroom-space costs. Technology and bus fares remain separate needs in our current funding request.
